Biography - JEWELS HANSON

Jewels Hanson is a Country Music Singer/Songwriter hailing from the wild, wild west coast of California. With her intense energy and electrifying personality, Jewels is an amazing performer. She’s all country, from her head down to her boots, with unbelievable soul in her voice, and intense passion in her performance. 

From her musical beginnings singing at her church in Fremont, CA, to performing in professional musical theater, Jewels has been performing her whole life. She appeared as a regular on the CBS Television series "Child’s Play" and was also the 1992 USA National Champion Individual Crowd-Leader.  This self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie is an advanced blue belt in Taekwondo, a scuba diver, motorcycle rider, and die-hard baseball fan.  Combining her passion for music and sports, Jewels has performed the National Anthem at over 20 Major League Stadiums, including L.A.’s Dodger Stadium, Chicago’s Comiskey Park, Oakland's Network Associates Coliseum, San Francisco’s Candlestick Park, and the opening weekend at Seattle's Safeco Field before a sold-out crowd.

Also a pianist, Jewels is a member of the award winning Gospel group BLU99 (Believer’s Local Union 99) whose debut album “Worship Him” is climbing the charts of independent gospel releases.  Jewels was a National Finalist in the 1998 True Value Country Showdown, the world’s largest Country music talent search.  As a part of the National Finals, she sang on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry, in Nashville, Tennessee, sharing the stage with Billy Ray Cyrus and Tanya Tucker.  Her single “Tell Me Something I Don’t Know” quickly gained popularity in Europe on the European Country Music Association charts, propelling her into the top five. Jewels has gained a large Internet fan following through thousands of music downloads online.  Splitting her time between the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles, Jewels' rendition of the song “Where Would I Be?” appears in the daytime Soap Opera “Days of Our Lives”.  She also recently appeared in the ABC special “Signs of Fear” and often lends her voice as a demo singer for many well-known songwriters.

Jewels can be seen with the San Francisco Bay Area country rock phenomenon APPALOOSA, performing weekly at the world famous Saddle Rack in Fremont, CA.  Jewels' musical influences include legends such as Travis Tritt, Bonnie Raitt, Elvis, Al Green, and Huey Lewis.  Young, determined, and talented, Jewels is definitely one artist to keep your eye on.
